VIZIO 32 Inch Class Theater 3D LCD HDTV with VIZIO Internet Apps®
If you are looking for a 3-connected, Internet TV, this is the one to buy. This TV is probably the best overall value out there right now. The picture is incredible and the sound is adequate. By "suitable" I think the sound is good enough if this is a TV for your room. If this is a TV is a family or entertainment room, you want to buy external speakers just to improve the overall quality of the sound.
Internet connection and available software is really nice. If you are a Netflix or Hulu + users, this will be very handy. There are plenty of programs for sports updates.
3D is a really nice touch to a TV. I've tried a few things in 3D, and can say that you really get a solid 3D experience with this TV. But you can not sit anywhere you want. The manual comes with a picture of the "optimal 3D view". From certain angles page, you will not get 3D view.
The only major issue I had with this TV is when you use a PS3 to play video games. Ghosting (motion blur) can be a problem as well as uncomfortable pixelation and lagging when displayed in 1080p. Vizio support was more than helpful with this. They recommended changing the output settings on my PS3, which ended with the problem most often.
Overall, I highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for the most advanced television technology available while you still afford it.
** UPDATE 5/14/11: PS3 settings to reduce ghosting and Eliminate Stock **
After playing with many combinations of settings that I found the following PS3 settings to work best, while the game in 2D. These settings are based on MLB 11: The Show, because some games had the worst ghosting issues from my game. Other games that may not need these settings. The TV settings listed below are absolutely necessary to have. This will eliminate any delays you may experience.
PS3 Settings:
- Go to "Video Settings" and set '1080p 24HzOutput (HDMI) "to OFF.
- Go to "Display Settings" and change the settings Video Output "to 720p. To change this setting, select" Manual "when it asks you to choose.
- The only alternative (which I'm not positive I actually changed or if this option is the default setting) was the "Game Settings". I have 'PS Smoothing "is set to OFF.
TV settings:
- TV settings: Hit the "Menu" on the remote and go to "Preferences". Make sure the "Input Source" is set to, what input your PS3 uses. Go to "Game Mode" and select "ON". This eliminates any delays, while the game was a major problem in the beginning.
